The deal, in plain words

Shared Skills LLC runs an online communications platform. This page is what you agree to when you use it. It is written to be read, not to be skipped.

What Shared Skills is

A place to pay someone for their time and what they know. Seekers arrive with a question. Sharers answer it, and are paid by the minute over video, voice or live text, or per reply by message. That is the whole product: a conversation with somebody who has done the thing.

Who Sharers are

Every Sharer describes themselves as one of two kinds, and they choose which:

Neither ranks above the other, and neither is a qualification.

What we have and have not checked

Shared Skills LLC does not verify that a Sharer knows what they claim to know. Whether someone is a hobbyist or a professional, how deep they say they are in their field, their job title and their years of experience are all entered by that person about themselves. We do not confirm them.

A credential shown on a profile reads claimed, not checked unless it is marked as checked, in which case an administrator has looked at a document. Even then we are confirming that a document exists, not that any particular advice is sound. Treat every profile as a person's own account of themselves, because that is exactly what it is.

What it is not

Fields where we interrupt you

Before a session in health, finance, law, fitness or the building trades, the platform shows a warning specific to that field and records that you saw it. It is there because bad guidance in those areas costs people their health, their savings, their case or their safety, and a refund does not undo any of that. Read it rather than clicking past it.

Everyone speaks for themselves

All users, on both sides, are independent contractors. Nobody here is an employee or agent of Shared Skills LLC, and no Sharer speaks for us. Communications are expressed from each individual's own perspective and are that person's own responsibility. By using the platform you agree not to hold Shared Skills LLC responsible for another user's conduct, statements, involvement or activities.

Money

Credits in

Credits are account balance, nothing more — money you have put on account to spend on sessions. They are bought from the credits page, which sends you to a third-party payment processor to pay for the amount you choose. We do not collect or store card details on this site.

Money never leaves the platform

Shared Skills LLC will never ask you for money, payment or funds outside this platform — not by email, not by phone, not in a message, not for any reason. There is exactly one place you pay us, and it is the credits page.

If another user asks you to pay them somewhere else, or offers to pay you somewhere else, stop and report it. This is the most common way people are stolen from on platforms like this one, and it is also the way you lose every protection this platform gives you: no receipt, no record, no recourse, no refund. Off-platform payment is grounds for removal for both parties.

How sharers are paid

Sharers earn their agreed share of communications actually completed on the platform: metered session minutes that were spoken, messages that were replied to, and gifts that were received. Earnings accrue as pending and are paid out on request, above the minimum, to the destination you nominate. Sharers are responsible for their own taxes. Sharers are not employees, receive no benefits, and where required will be issued the appropriate tax form for what they were paid.

Refunds

Unused credits can be refunded to the original payment method within 30 days of purchase. Minutes already spoken are not refundable — that time was somebody's work. If something went wrong in a session, report it and we will look at it.

Publish & Verify

Alongside paying for sessions, Shared Skills LLC runs a network where businesses pay to have their posts shared, and members earn credit by sharing or by checking that a share happened. Four roles, and one person may hold several.

Growers and advertisers

A Grower funds a campaign to get their content posted. You are the advertiser of record for everything in your campaign. By funding one you confirm that:

Campaigns are funded with credit you bought. Every approved post draws from that budget and nothing is minted beyond it. Close a campaign and the unspent balance returns as the same credit you put in. Nothing here buys reach, engagement, clicks or results — you are paying for a post to be made and checked, and that is what you get.

We may refuse or remove any creative, at any time, without owing you a reason.

Publishers and affiliates

A Publisher shares approved content on their own social accounts and earns credit for it. You are an independent contractor. You are not our employee, not our agent, and not a spokesperson for Shared Skills LLC or for any Grower.

Reviewers

A Reviewer opens a submitted post, checks four things, and says yes or no. You are paid for checking, never for approving, so there is never a reason to wave one through.

A review is your honest opinion that a post existed and met the checks when you looked. It is not a certification, and it does not make you responsible for what the post said. Approvals are audited. One overturned takes the credit back off both you and the publisher, and repeated overturns end your access to reviewing.

Earned credit

Receiving credit in exchange for work may still be taxable where you live, even though no money changes hands. We do not withhold anything and we do not give tax advice. If you earn meaningfully here, ask somebody who does.

Gaming it

Accounts that arrange approvals between themselves, post to audiences built for the purpose, submit posts that were never public, or otherwise manufacture credit rather than earning it, will have that credit reversed and may be closed. We do not owe a warning first.

Sponsored placements

Some pages carry a paid placement. Every one of them is labelled Sponsor and names the business paying for it, on every page where it appears. We do not run untitled placements and we do not disguise them as anything else.

A sponsor paying for a placement buys the placement and nothing else. It does not buy position in the directory, the matchmaker's suggestions, or who you are shown when you look for help. Nobody can pay to rank higher here.

What a sponsor says is theirs, not ours. We do not check it and we do not stand behind it.

Conduct and safety

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shared Skills LLC is not liable for loss, misuse, mishandling, retaliation, wrongdoing or other conduct by users of this platform, for the accuracy or suitability of anything a Sharer says, or for anything that happens because you acted on it. We connect people and meter the time. We do not supervise, review or stand behind the substance of any conversation. The platform is provided as is. Where any part of this limitation is found unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here removes rights you hold under consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.

Your account

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, particularly the 18+ requirement, off-platform payment solicitation, or conduct that endangers another user. Pending earnings already accrued from completed communications are paid out on closure unless they are the subject of an open investigation.

Questions about any of this: reach us through the platform. We do not conduct payment business by email or phone, and anyone who does is not us.
